Hochkarätige Künstler und Songmixes
Einen Karrieremodus gibt es nicht, was wohl einigen nicht so gut passen wird, und anderen wiederum sehr gut gefällt (dazu zähle ich auch), da dies in der Vergangenheit bei vergleichbaren Titeln oft gezwungen, unnatürlich und aufgesetzt wirkte. Ihr spielt daher ganz simpel verschiedene Setlisten nacheinander frei, die jeweils unterschiedlich viele Songmixes enthalten.
Im Gegensatz zu Guitar Hero dominiert bei DJ Hero natürlich weniger der Rocksound, sondern ein Mix aus Hip Hop-, R'n'B- und Elektro-Tracks. Für die insgesamt 93 Songmixes konnte man dann auch wirklich hochkarätige Stars der Musikszene gewinnen und so bietet DJ Hero Remixes von Daft Punk, Rihanna, Gwen Stefanie über Eric Prydz, Kid Cudi bis hin zu Eminem und Jay-Z. Und die für DJ Hero neu gemischten Songs bilden größtenteils geniale Remixes, die teilweise sogar deutlich cooler klingen als das Original. Ready for a Battle?
Das sind dann auch die perfekten Voraussetzungen für ein Mehrspieler-Battle, wenngleich DJ Hero alleine ebenso viel Spaß macht wie mit einem Mitspieler. Doch während Guitar Hero für den vollen Spaß definitiv weitere Mitspieler mit Plastikgitarre benötigt, verbreitet das Auflegen bei DJ Hero auch als Einzelspieler jede Menge Fun.
Trotzdem ist es natürlich möglich, entweder lokal mit einem weiteren Turntable-Controller gegen einen Freund zu scratchen, eine Guitar Hero-Gitarre anzuschließen und gegen einen befreundeten Rocker anzutreten oder das Ganze online zu bestreiten. Klingt auf den ersten Blick etwas unpassend und wirkt auch im Spiel mehr wie ein Klotz am Bein, doch bekannte Bands wie Linkin Park oder Limp Bizkit haben schon vor Urzeiten bewiesen, dass sich Gitarre und Turntables nicht ausschließen. Dem können wir doch nicht widersprechen…
